An egg fly, like the name states, is tied pecifically to represent a salmon egg-a source of food for many species of fish,including rainbow trout,char,and grayling ect.When Pacific salmon are on their reds, the number of eggs laid is simply vast,and other fish will congregate behind the spawning fish and pick off any eggs that driff downstream.
